Welcome To Anchor
Our Vision: "A safe, secure and enriching environment in which every member of our community can thrive"
Anchor Inc. is an independent community based organisation with a proud history of serving Melbourne’s Outer East. We support some of the most vulnerable in our community through the provision of quality services which include: homeless support, foster care, kinship care, counselling, community education and family reconciliation.
We are looking forward to another productive year of making a difference in our community. Would you like to help us? Please consider making a tax deductible donation so that this year is a brighter one for those who need some help. For more information on donating, please click here.
Introducing "Fostering Connections"
We have joined foster care agencies across Victoria to form Fostering Connections to make it easier to find out more about becoming a foster carer. To find out more about becoming a foster carer visit www.fosteringconnections.com.au or call 1800 013 088.
Important new research
Teenagers who are couchsurfing don't think of themselves as homeless, but a reasearch partnership which included Anchor Inc. has provided evidence that shows that these young people are at a high risk, and helps us better understand the urgency to intervene earler rather than later to avoid long term homelessness.
Your community needs more foster carers to care
for vulnerable babies, children and young people
Can you provide the missing ingredients that changes a child's life? Make a difference to a child’s life, please call Anchor now on (03) 9801 1999 to find out more.

Kinship Care Research
In 2013 Anchor, along with Ozchild, was invited to collaborate and partner with Baptcare in carrying out research into the complexities of Kinship Care.
The aim of the research was to identify the level of complexity within Kinship families, to understand the nature of those complexities and to make recommendations for DHS with regard to the OOHC sector. Over a 15 month period, representatives from the three Community Service Organisations collaborated and strategically planned avenues by which the research could reach its target audience. Anchor’s representative was Abigail Ankers, Team Leader of the Kinship Care Program. To date the research has been presented at three conferences, with continued opportunities being sought.
